UKKO Detox Tea Blend is a combination of eight plants, intended as a pleasant companion to a balanced, mindful lifestyle. The plants it contains have traditionally been used to support digestion (rosemary, ginger, spearmint, chicory) and to support flushing of the urinary tract (birch leaf). A fresh-tasting Hungarian blend that fits into your daily routine alongside plenty of fluids.

Effects and benefits:

The plants in the blend have traditionally been used in the following ways – in the language of tradition, always linked to the individual plant:

• Supporting digestion: rosemary, ginger, spearmint and chicory have traditionally been consumed to support digestion and when feeling full
• Flushing the urinary tract: birch leaf has traditionally been used to support flushing of the urinary tract (EMA), alongside plenty of fluids
• Antioxidant content: hibiscus and beetroot are plants containing antioxidant compounds, which also give a lovely color

• Eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals
• Avoid excessive sugar and alcohol consumption
• Avoid extreme "detox" cures – the body's natural processes work on their own; the goal is balance

About the ingredients:

• Hibiscus: a bright red, tart flower; contains antioxidant compounds and gives a lovely color
• Spearmint: refreshing, minty; traditionally used to support digestion
• White dead-nettle: a traditional herb with a mild character
• Birch leaf: traditionally used to support flushing of the urinary tract (EMA); caution for those allergic to birch pollen
• Beetroot: earthy, with natural sweetness and color; contains antioxidant compounds
• Ginger: pleasantly spicy; traditionally used to support digestion
• Rosemary: an aromatic herb; traditionally used to support digestion
• Chicory: traditionally used to support digestion and appetite (Asteraceae family – cross-allergy with ragweed)

Suggested use:

Preparing the tea

• Bring water to a boil, then let it cool for a few minutes to about 80 °C.
• Pour 0.5 liters of water over one teaspoon (approx. 2.5 g) of the blend.
• Steep for 10–15 minutes, then strain.
• Drink twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, before meals – alongside plenty of fluids.

Important information and contraindications

Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do NOT consume in case of liver or kidney failure (due to the flushing nature of birch leaf and its effect on fluid balance).

If you are on long-term medication, consult your doctor. Use with caution or avoid if you are allergic to birch pollen or plants of the Asteraceae family (ragweed). Do not consume if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
